What we collect
Account details: your name, username, email, avatar and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
Game and reading activity: games played, scores, play chips, achievements, friends, room invites and chat messages.
Saved on your device: your reading progress, reading theme and listening speed are stored in your browser so the library remembers where you left off. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Technical data: basic information such as device type, browser, approximate location from your IP address and error logs, so we can keep the site secure and working.
Messages to us: anything you send through the contact page.
How we use it
- to create and run your account and sign you in, including sending one-time codes;
- to save your chips, stats, friends and game rooms;
- to send invites and important account messages;
- to keep IdleCanvas safe, prevent cheating and fix problems;
- to understand which games and books are popular so we can improve them.
Listening to books
When you tap Listen, your own browser reads the summary aloud using its built-in voice. The text is not sent to us for this. Some browsers may use their own online voice service; see your browser’s privacy settings for details.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep some records by law.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile and settings anytime in My account.
- Hide your online status or turn off invites and emails in Settings.
- Delete your account from Settings → Delete account.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it through the contact page.
Children
IdleCanvas is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use encryption in transit and secure password storage, and limit who on our team can access personal data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as IdleCanvas grows. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you about important changes.
