Letters to a daughter
The book grew out of letters Collins wrote to his daughter, who wanted to understand money without spending her life studying it. His message is that investing can be simple, and that simple tends to work better than complicated.
His basic formula is to spend less than you earn, invest the surplus and avoid debt. He sees debt as something that steals your freedom, and he argues that saving a large share of your income dramatically shortens the road to financial independence.
