Where Dalio comes from

Dalio founded the investment firm Bridgewater Associates from his apartment in 1975. The first part of the book tells his story, including his biggest mistake.

In the early 1980s he confidently predicted an economic collapse that did not come, and he lost so much that he nearly had to give up his business. The experience taught him humility. Instead of asking whether he was right, he began asking how he could know he was right, and he sought out the smartest people who disagreed with him.
